2072 West Captain Whidbey Inn Road, Coupeville, WA 98239 Fly, drive or take
a boat! You can take a ferry from Port Townsend or Mukilteo onto Whidbey Island.
Known as the long way, one can also drive onto the island using the Deception Pass
Bridge on the north end of the island. From Sea-Tac Airport you can take a shuttle
bus to the Kenmore Air Terminal and take a float plane that makes regular stops
at the Captain Whidbey Inn. Private boats may anchor off the water from the inn,
or use one of the buoys. The dock may be used for off loading and overnight moorage
with a reservation made in advance.
From SEATTLE & THE SOUTH: via the MUKILTEO FERRY
From I-5 North, take the Mukilteo (Muck-ul-tee-oh) Ferry/Whidbey Island exit
(Exit #189), which is approximately 25 minutes north of Seattle. Continue on Highway
525 to Mukilteo. Take the Mukilteo Ferry to Clinton and follow Highway 525 North
approximately 25 miles, where Highway 525 becomes Highway 20. Continue on Highway 20. At Coupeville you will pass under a pedestrian bridge. Go approximately 3
miles farther and you will go down a long grade. At the bottom of the grade, the
road will curve to the right. Take the first right past the curve, which is Madrona
Way. Follow Madrona Way along the water approximately 3/4 mile. Turn left on Captain
Whidbey Inn Road, which is immediately past the Captain Whidbey Inn sign. The Inn
is just 100 yards ahead on your left.
Please Note - Long ferry lines and delays should be expected during regular rush hours
- Monday-Friday 3pm-7pm. Saturday afternoons 11am-3pm. We strongly recommend driving
around to the north and taking the Deception Pass Bridge during these times. Although
the mileage is greater the actual driving time is approximately the same.

From SEATTLE & THE SOUTH: via the DECEPTION PASS BRIDGE
Take I-5 North to Burlington. Take Highway 20 West and follow it approximately
15 minutes to the sign that says "Whidbey Island Next Left". Take the Whidbey Island
turn, continuing on Highway 20 South to the Deception Pass Bridge. After crossing
the bridge, follow Highway 20 through Oak Harbor. Approximately 7 miles south of
Oak Harbor the highway comes down near the water of Penn Cove and the small community
of San de Fuca. Just past the small community, turn left on Madrona Way at the end
of the Cove. Approximately 3/4 mile down Madrona Way, turn left on Captain Whidbey
Inn Road, which is immediately past The Captain Whidbey Inn sign. The Inn is just
100 yards ahead on your left.
From OLYMPIC PENINSULA & PORT TOWNSEND via KEYSTONE FERRY
From Port Townsend, take the ferry to Keystone. From the Keystone ferry terminal,
turn left and follow Engle Road to Coupeville. Go straight until you reach the stoplight
at Highway 20. At the stoplight, turn left under the pedestrian bridge and follow
Highway 20 approximately 3 miles farther where you will go down a long grade. At
the bottom, the road will curve to the right. Take the first right past the curve,
which will be Madrona Way. Follow Madrona Way along the water approximately 3/4
mile. Turn left on Captain Whidbey Inn Road, which is immediately past The Captain
Whidbey Inn sign. The Inn is just 100 yards ahead on your left.
From NORTH via DECEPTION PASS BRIDGE
From Vancouver, take Highway 99 South to the border at Blaine. From Blaine follow
I-5 South to Burlington. Take Highway 20 West (Exit #230) and follow it approximately
15 minutes to the sign that says "Whidbey Island Next Left". Take the Whidbey Island
turn, continuing on Highway 20 South to the Deception Pass Bridge. After crossing
